Image Guidelines

The image or images you send me to work from are the most important part of the portrait to guarantee I can add a high level of detail. A clear, high quality image always makes for a better portrait. Below are some example of what makes a good photo.



Try to make sure there's no blinking

Backlighting makes the subject too dark to work from.

Flash photography can cause overexposure and eyeball flashback, this can be corrected but is best avoided.

Acceptable back lighting but still well lit



If you want full body make sure you fit as much in the frame as possible...

Although a little cut off paw can be recreated on the piece.


Action shots can make great, fun portraits, but try to avoid images that crop legs or tops of heads.

A sleeping picture can make an adorable portrait, but you may prefer an image that clearly shows your pets features.
